86 SAAB 900I (noise, fuel system, paint)
Posted by Alain Delbarre (more from Alain Delbarre) on Thu, 25 Nov 1999 09:25:58
My car is a 86 SAAB 900I 8V with 280 000 Kms
I have sonorous noises coming from the front (below?) when running at 2500-3000 rpm. I dont know whether it comes from torn engine mountings. Any idea about checking this hypothesis?
I have no supply to the auxiliary air valve and warm up regulator that gives high idle (1100 rpm) everytime, except when the engine is warm enough (eg in traffic jam). The problem has been temporarily fixed by connecting the valve and regulator to the ignition coil. I suspect broken wire or failing connector. Does anybody know where the connectors are in the engine bay ?
My car is Eduardo grey (body colour code 158). The repair told me he could not find that reference. Does anybody know the composition of this paint ?
Many thanks
