Master Cyl
Posted by spratel (more from spratel) on Tue, 25 Jan 2000 17:22:35
It looks as though I will be replacing the master cylinder on my 82 Turbo. Anything I should be watchful of? I haven't changed a master cylinder for years, and although I have rebuilt calipers, I'm a bit hesitant to just tear into the job without advice. Thanks

Good evening all -
I'm in a quandry... We are shoping for a replacement for a now unneeded minivan, and was hoping to pick up a new 9-5 wagon. (kids are bigger, with less stuff...) After checking out a wagon at the local dealer (Exeter, NH), I was not impressed at all... This car looked more like a domestic wagon than a Saab. Yes, the same familiar dash was there (my current Saab is an '88 9000S), but that's where it stopped... Looking under the hood was a V6, with less room to work with than one of my early 99s. Also interesting was the vestigal interior latch and child safety locks on the hatch lid. Anyway - in a fit - we traveled a half mile down the road to the Volvo dealer (also in Exeter) and looked at a new V70XC. I gotta tell you - it's got the 9-5 beat. Features, price, performance.... and the familiar, and now apparently lost to Saab/GM, Swedish simplicity.
Any others out there with similar thoughts??? (good / bad?)
Bill ~
