Thermostat gasket on classic 16-valve 900s
Posted by John Kupiec (more from John Kupiec) on Thu, 3 Feb 2000 10:15:53
Question:
I just recently replaced a thermostat on a classic 900 16-valve engine. >From what I could see in my Bentley, the only gasket is the one that surrounds the thermostat itself. There is no gasket between the thermostat housing and the engine head. Is this correct?
Reason for question: I seem to have a coolant leak. No obvious sources. Hose clamps were tighteneed, and thermostat housing was torqued to spec.
Thanks for any insight.
