Rebuilding the tranny?
Posted by Wayne R. Edelen (more from Wayne R. Edelen) on Tue, 22 Feb 2000 18:11:52
I have a '98 900 SE Turbo 5spd w/70,000 miles.

In the past 10,000 miles or so, the car has been intermittently grinding
while shifting into 2nd gear and popping out of 2nd. Starting this AM, it
will not go into 2nd without grinding horribly. Every other gear is fine.

I'm guessing the syncros for 2nd are toast.

Anyone who's been down this road care to give me a ballpark on the
R&R/rebuild of the tranny before I head down to the local Saab shop?

Thanks!
