Wheel Sizes

SAAB 900 T16S Convertible 1993 (last of the classics)
Good morning everyone
Can someone please let me know the max wheel width size I can go to without any mods. My local
SAAB dealer says 6x16 , but when ringing around the dealers they are quoting 7x16 with an offset
on the rim of 30mm. As 6x16 are quite hard to get hold of I am tempted to go for the 7x16 provided
they are going to 'fit' without any adverse effects.
