I am trying to get an answer from Saab USA... Here is the story so far:

Subject: Technical Inquiry
I recently took my 2005 9-3 Aero convertible to the dealer (McCann Saab of Tacoma) for the 10,000-mile oil change. While they had the car, I wanted the dealer to use TECH II to turn off the Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and change headlights and fog lights to ‘Rest of the World/Euro’ setting. They are several situations where using parking lights alone (or with fog lights) would be very useful and courteous: i.e. when approaching a military base security point, boarding a ferry at night, waiting in line at the Canadian border crossing, etc. As Saab switches the headlight through the ignition switch, and I typically leave the headlight switch in the "ON" position, the headlights would still on at all times unless specifically switched off.
I stated I would pay to have the headlights set to the following:
>Headlight switch ‘off’ position: Headlights off, running/parking lights off, and fog lights can not be turned on.
>Headlight switch ‘park’ position: Headlights off, running/parking lights on, and fog lights can be turned on (perfect for driving off and on the ferry at night).
>Headlight switch ‘on’ position: Headlights on, running/parking lights on, and fog lights can be turned on.
The dealer stated they could not change the headlight settings due to Saab USA policy.
Would you please enlighten me about the Saab USA policy regarding the headlight settings and if it is possible to have the headlights set to my specifications?
Thank you,
-SNIP-
