Here's my experience with my new '06 9-3ss Aero:
The 'official list' of TechII options available for programming after delivery did not include any DRL options.
So, I asked the sales manager if this was possible, citing that on my 2003 9-3ss, the dealer reprogrammed the lights for the 'rest-of-world' setting upon request. (BTW, I found the procedure here on Saabnet, so a search should turn it up. I also have the procedure printed out, but not immediately available...)
Anyway: the dealer says that the service dept. will only re-program the DRLs if they have a written request for it, citing legal requirements.
Not getting in to the specifics, I simply provided the service dept. a letter as such, and, voila, DRLs that work as they should.
The 'fuse 15' solution only applies to pre-2003 9-3s, and pre-2004 9-3 'verts. 9-5 models may still use that fuse on the DRL circuit -- not sure.
