I have an '04 'vert, it's been reliable as far as not breaking down, but I did have to have the On-star unit replaced (which I did because I didn't want it causing problems with any other of the electrics, but I don't actually use the service), I had to have a popping sound fixed (when turning - solution was "removed caliper, removed and re-lubed wheel bearing), and I've had a couple of plastic caps pop off and get lost (replaced under warranty). I've also had the check engine light come on for a while, but it went out on its own before I could get it into the dealer to be checked... Overall, I really like my car a lot, I'd buy another in an instant. I would say it all depends on how much a car being in the shop bothers you. If any trip at all does, then don't bother getting a car, since any car can have problems, even if the brand rarely does. If you don't mind an occasional trip, but don't like the idea of non-warranty repairs, then get a CPO or new car. Other than that, go for what you like when you're in the driver's seat.
