I am trying to keep a careful eye on the boost gauge, but one small detail that is different on this car from my old 9-5 Aero is that the gauge markings do not show in three distinct color zones. It is all white hash marks then red. It makes it a little harder to determine if the relative amount of right foot you are using is comparable to the way the old engine was driven. Also, more important, this engine is so much smoother even in the low rpm range that increasing the load at lower speeds( thus, more boost than you thought you were using) might happen. I certainly am not putting the miles on a quarter at a time, and think I am trying to drive it as tamely as I did my last car, but my impressions so far are that on straight highway I can see 30, but around town there is a big drop. We are taking it from NH to Road Atlanta in July for Aero Academy, and a long trip like that will probably prove out that theory. I cannot imagine wanting next year's 300 HP AWD version of this car if this is what the car already does for fuel milage. Might look at a fuel cell Honda FCX by then.
