I just did this. No other parts needed. Good jackstands for sure!
Vaseline for the new o-ring.
Be careful not to break the clips on the fuel line disconnects.
The main electrical connecter was fiddly to get unplugged. I slipped it out of the chassis bracket before unplugging it.
Run the tank level down as low as you dare. Be sure to pull the fuse to depressurize the lines. Be careful of sparks with the tank open!!
A lot of people remove the exhaust rather that the WIS drop it method.
I went by the WIS approach.
I was able to get the lock ring off with the brute force chisel method.
Was totally impossible to get it back on this way.
I bought the tool on line ... $44 with prime free shipping. Even then needed a breaker bar to get it on. Don't be tempted to use the old o ring to make it easier.
OTC 6599 Universal Fuel Sender Lock Tool
Think you may be in Canada but you would be welcome to borrow mine if you paid shipping both ways. Don't think it would be worth it though and probably cheaper just to buy it.
