OK I'm either a genius or a fool. Just acquired a 2003 9-3 SE convertible. It has miraculously only 45.554 mile on it. It even sounds like it has the original chirp of the anti theft system. There were only a few obvious things that needed to be done to it, tires and hoses and some touch up pair hear and there because of scratched paint. I was sad to note that there was an Onstar system in the car and I want to disable it. THere is an antennae on the drivers side rear fender which goes up and down when you turn the radio on and off. On the passenger side rear fender there is what looks like the stub of another antennae with nothing attached. Is that the Onstar antennae. I have seen from some sites that there is some sort of unit in the trunk that can just be unplugged. Does anyone know the simplest way to remove this data collecting device from the car?
