This is what I was talking about in the previous message. There aren't necessarily major problems with these cars but little ones and it requires a lot of trips to the garage. If you're willing to put up with that and you think the car's worth it go for it. Very often the most expensive thing is diagnosis. It requires 3-4 trips to the dealer until they find out that the problem is a minor switch or sensor failure. It may cost 100 bucks to fix the problem but another 300 to diagnose it. If you buy European cars you have to accept that. If not then get a comparable Japanese car which will not drive as nice as a European car but will not require 15+trips to the garage in 3 years. In fact it probably won't require any outside of regular maintenance.
