well that depends...we have a Honda Odyssey (highest reliability rating..consumers) that went to the dealer 15 times between 35k (end of warr) and 52k..replacing items each time including 3 transmissions before Honda acnknowledged "software" issues and replaced again (3 times) all the circuit boards and reprogrammed. Most of these trips were unpleasant..no loaner, etc... several "on a hook". Honda and 2 dealers were TOTALLY UNCONCERNED about OUR problem. Ater the car was fixed, it took 6 months of calling and threatening Honda to recieve re-imbursment of our "out of pocket" expenses. Now at 85k the Honda IS reliable.
My 9-5 has made many trips to the dealer to fix minor issues THE FIRST TIME
and Never has gone in on a hook.
My opinion is that Japanese cars are great ONLY if they never break...but everything does!! WQe are anxiously awaiting Saab's "big" 7 pass vehicle to replace this Honda...the LAST JAP!!
