Regarding the seats, You should be aware that Saab does not build the seats,it gives a purchase order to Johnson Controls and says" Ship us x number of ventilated gray, y number of non ventilated beige etc.
How many of each should they order? Having options is great for us as consumers, but somewhere along the manufacturing process, someone has to make a decision about what to order form the subcontractors, and the lead times for these items are enormous, sometimes over one year! Thats why it is not so simple to say why the ventilated seat cannot be put in the car going to a market where it was not specified as an option. I'm not saying it was the right decision for your market, just that once the decision is made, it is not as simple as throwing a switch to reverse the decision.
This is no different thanthe manufacturing decisions that affect just about all products these days. The finish product as we know it is made up of components that are sourced and subassembled by many vendors along the way to becomming a car. Paint colors are choosen about THREE YEARS before they appear in your driveway. Thass how long it takes that industry to formulate, test, and gear up to produce a new color for a manufacturer.
Believe me, I 'm as picky about what options and features are on my cars as the next person, but you have to realize a little about what goes into building a car to appreciate the difficulty in getting the job done, and making money doing it.
