If you go through the pictures of all the newer models from the big car companies, you'll find shared switchgear, controls, audio equipment, much much more.
You can argue this both ways -- the Camry switchgear used in a Lexus? or, to the Camry buyers' advantage, Lexus switchgear used in a Toyota? Same for the others, too.
I would hope that the touch/feel, operations, nighttime usability, etc. are all "Saab" quality. That said, there are some pretty cheap feeling switches in my '02 9-5, switches that are not lit at night, etc. (not to mention, I'll shortly be on my 3rd SID in 45k miles!) So if "sharing" provides overall higher quality -- why not?
(having sat in an '06 9-5 I guarantee you that the seats are fabulous Saab comfort, look and feel -- that's key to me!)
