I certainly don't mind sharing the hidden parts. However, slapping a Chevy dashboard into my 9-5 and trying to tell me it's a premium European car while selling the same stereo in an Impala and telling me it's a fine domestic sedan...well, don't try to BS me.
That's what GM doesn't get: Buying Saabs used to make you feel smart (or at least me). Now, they insult our intelligence by offering us vehicles that are literally in various states of disguise. I pretty much feel like an idiot- if I buy a Saab now, does that mean I've allowed the wool to be pulled over my eyes...that I'm in denial that the dash/stereo/car itself was not engineered by an entirely different division, or car company?
To my core, I love Saab. It is painful to watch what is being done to the brand. Anyone who thinks this brand is vital and is going to survive under GM is sorely mistaken. Someone HAS to buy it- it's still got enough equity to be worth something to a different OEM.
Rest assured: If Kerkorian gets his seats on the board, Saab is done for with GM.
