That horrible new wood in the '02's

For what it's worth -- I was getting my '01 serviced today and took a look around -- saw that new wood in a 3.0 and I mentioned to a salesman that it really looked bad. I told him of the negative comments floating around on this bb regarding it and he said they've already decided to change it thanks to all the negative feedback. His own personal experience has been about 8 in 10 hate it, and the other 2 just tolerate it! So I'd say if you're looking to buy, but hate the wood -- see if you can negotiate either an immediate switch, or maybe a 'retro' fit at some point in the future (at their expense, of course). Even though I'm not in the market, I have to think that wood would prevent me from going with that model (unfortunately that was the only '02 they had on display, so I don't know what any of the other styles look like). But I kinda like the new front end, though.
