I have seen this a number of times before, so I am not picking on you. Welcome to the 9-5 family. Now I am getting on my soapbox.
I don't want my car unlocked until I get up to it, and I always remember to lock it as soon as everyone is out (my wife will tell you it's sometimes before). I guess it comes from my 96 900SE, where I took the remote off the key and left it in the house, and used the deadbolt feature all the time. Is everyone wanting the capability to unlock your car from across the parking lot? Why?? The "official" line from Saab is that the remote range is small so noone can code-steal your remote. That make sense, regardless of how hi-tech your remote is, there is some crook out there making an even more hi-tech theft device. More range means more power required, which makes the battery go out faster. Could someone help me understand this, and give some situations where more range is NEEDED?
