1st Check Air filter, in some cases
ICE can form on it and reduce the
amount of air that gets through.
Air filter is on the right side of the
car underneath the front bumper.
2nd Check cold air intake, in some cases
leaves or dirt gets into them. Remove air
filter and use a wire to sap through the
cold air intake pipe.
3rd Check the spark plugs and DI cassette. DEALER
4th Check the O2 sensors. DEALER
5th Check turbo. DEALER
6th Check Oil. For short trips you should
be using a 0w-30 or 0w-40 OIL full or semi Synth.
Castrol or Mobil1 or Quaker State. I am
using a semi-synth 5w-40 in my 9-5 that is
made by a small Swiss company, there are plenty
of good oils available nowadays that meet
SAAB oil specs.
Even on short trips you should get about 18Mpg with
your 9-5.
Regards,
Coolknight
