RDS is a system that allows you to accurately set the time from a radio station. In the 9-5, you do it by pressing the two non-descript round buttons which is just beside/under the clock on the dashboard.
(press and hold them in, the clock will say "RDS retime" after a couple of seconds and then set the time for you).
The prerequisite is that you have tuned in a radio station that supports this - I'm not sure you have support for that feature in the US (P3 works fine in Sweden in case someone have missed that feature here...).
My clock have been keeping time perfectly as well, there's just two RDS-retimes per year (when switching from/to DST...)
