Don't let the pedal spacing stop you from buying the car. I am sure it would not be that big a deal to trim the right side of the brake pedal a little. You might want to glue down the rubber pad - I am not sure how it attaches. I think just half an inch would make a big difference.
I wear size 10 and never have problems, though I don't wear really wide shoes. If you buy sneakers, get running shoes rather than cross trainers, which tend to have really wide soles.
You might also consider Piloti driving shoes. I don't own any yet, but plan on buying a pair soon. They look as if they are quite slender and flexible.
