No. I bought a used car with 100k miles on it, I checked the vehicle and its history (I've been wrenching for over ten years - I don't know everything there is to know about cars, but I can spot a dog in about 30 seconds), and I am not complaining about major failures.
Further, virtually any car built in the last ten years will easily last 100k miles with reasonable maintenance. Whether it is cost-effective to keep said vehicle on the road that long is another matter.
Compared to other used cars I've purchased (admittedly a small sample), my 9-5 was quite problematic. By contrast, my 1983 BMW 533i was purchased with 160k miles on it. I drove it for nine years and 75k miles and it never stranded me once. Did components fail? Certainly. Was it less technology-dependent? Sure. But with proper maintenance, it kept going.
My complaint, if there is one, is merely that it appears that insufficient attention has been paid by Saab or their suppliers to the reliability of key components, the failure mode of which is usually immediate and results in the the car being rendered immobile.
