and you do feel the brakes to be a bit spongy at first; more so for front brakes as that's where the most braking force come from for front drive cars.
Some indies don't mind customers bring in their own parts but some don't like it as they don't want to work with parts in conditions that they don't know. Especially when repairs don't turn out the way it should be, the indies would point fingers at the parts supplied by the customers and the customers would blame the workmanship instead. So it's not a no-win situation for the indies either way.
Besides there is more money for the indies from parts as well, so the customers may get a price break on the hourly rate.
