It's the gas we have here in SE WI. My 2000 AERO was getting 22-23 for the past couple of years. I drove a 50/50 mix of light city / freeway. The car was always driven long enough to be fully warmed up for quite a while though.
Now that I have a new job in downtown Milwaukee (I live about 35 mi north) I spend almost all my driving on the freeway. I head down at 3am when there is no traffic, but always a bunch of cops clocking speed (which is really annoying on an empty freeway) so I usually travel about 70 mph (in a 65) until I get to the city and slow down to 60 (in a 55), then 55 (in a 50). My current mileage is 26-27 which is the highest I've ever seen on my 2000 AERO as well as my 1999 LPT before that. I usually buy 93 octane Mobil gas, occasionally BP.
My mileage numbers are manually calculated by fill ups as well as calculated on the SID (they are both really close).
