Hi LM,
Yes, I will certainly post photos once mine arrives (ordered it online yesterday).
My oil cooler had not cracked. Rather, the cover plate was leaking coolant. I was really hoping to reuse the oil cooler. But, one of the oil cooler to cover plate retaining nuts totally stripped the soft aluminum threads (you can easily see the stripped threads in the photos). Someone mentioned corrosion, but I don't think so. Nothing else was badly corroded and this really felt (and looked) like it had been cross threaded during original assembly.
I also decided to replace the thermostat at the same time. It turned out to be quite a bit more than 5 minutes of extra work getting the old one out. But, judging by the condition of the thermostat o-ring and the two o-rings in the thermostat tube, I made the right decision. I'd rather only do this job once and have it last another 100,000 miles (hopefully). :>
Regards,
Greg Bender
