You might also consider going to an independent repair shop - when I change a belt I always give the pulleys and anything else associated a spin check to make sure it is spinning freely, that would include the alternator bearing.
I had my 1999 in the dealer you mentioned years back for an extensive list of work before the warranty expired, mileage was 48K . they suggested the same thing, let's do the 60k service - the belt has cracks and oh - you should replace your front brakes. Well a belt can have very small cracks that are normal and my brakes had at least 20k worth of wear left.
It's a sales game with many repair shops and they will sell what someone will buy - even if it's a premature service, they position as a benefit not having to bring the car back again - I guess that works for some.
