So, just to be clear:
1. If I have a 2004 9-5 wagon, the "guts" can be reprogrammed, even if they were married to another saab beforehand (provided the FCC code on the fob matches my existing key)? Do you think my dealer is trying to get me to buy the key, or just doesn't know what he's talking about.
2. Do you remember the vendor your got your fobs from on ebay? Do you know if they were "divorced" or not already programmed? Were they for a 9-5 also or similar?
thanks again. Here are responses from some ebay vendors which don't leave me very confident...
A: We sell these remotes with a 85 % success ratio. Certain dealers say no problem they can do it
no matter what and others say no way. Just being completely honest with you.
B: Some dealers will tell you that they cannot reprogram as when remote is new . What the same dealers are loathe to tell you ( for obvious but dubious reason ) is that they can manipulate the programming with the software used to program the remote originally . Please do not purchase if dealer is not willing to assist as we do not refund for incorrect purchase
