Sounds like the same plan. I been doing the ATF every 10k and that's still WAY more than expected and it looks clean when I drain. But I dont trust ATs and can't fix one! I sure dont want one to go bad on me and I need this car for a LONG time if I can help it. $7-9 every 10k for ATF is cheap insr.
Good reasoning on the avail and $ for the HM 10w-40.
BTW...Advance right now has M1 special: 5 qts + M1 oil filter for $28. I think my WM is more than $22 for a 5qt 10w-40! I get the 5qt when I can but like you said not avail in 0w-40 (get it in 5w-20 at WM for my Honda). I got the "free" filter for my Honda. Figured they wouldnt have one to fit the Saab anyway.
