engine quit on interstate, dealer can't find a problem

I was driving my 2000 9-5 (4 cyl, 5 speed) on the highway last weekend, when the engine quit with no warning, and would not restart.
Towed to a dealer, where it sat til Tuesday. They couldn't start it either, pushed it into the service bay. Then, it started. They have now had it for a few days, say it starts and runs fine, they can't find the issue. I asked them to drive it on the highway. They didn't want to do that, because -- get this -- they would have to tow the car themselves if (when) the engine died again!
The fuel pump went out a couple of weeks ago, so it is new. Could a defect or loose connection there be the cause? Also got a DIC a few months back, and a crank position sensor a couple of years ago. Also, I removed the theft alarm over the summer, after new batteries failed to stop it from going off for no reason.
Any ideas?
thanks,
Tom
