Sounds like a CKP sensor. Some shops seems to have a difficult time finding that problem.
I usually let the car sit idling outside the shop in the sun with hood closed to build up as much heat as possible. Then I turn the engine off unless it has stalled by itself and let it sit for 5-10 min and then take a Ohm reading of the CKP sensor.
If it is way over nominal value of 860 Ohm, I replace it.
