Have only used it in the NY/NJ/PA areas. People are polite, although certainly not rocket scientists, and I think I've only had one time where they didn't pick up pretty quickly so I called back. I've used it when lost, used it when too lazy to get out the map (or didn't have the right map), used it to find addresses of places I really should have gotten before I left the house but just forgot (theaters, restaurants, etc). Especially handy when stuck in traffic, and you need an alternate route but aren't familiar with the area you're in. Unfortunately, they have no clue whether the route they are sending you to is just as jammed up.
Many people here hate it though, and would like to rip it out of their cars and strangle a GM rep with the wiring harness.
Personally, I'm renewing my subscription and am glad I got it for free for a year, otherwise I doubt I would have paid for it as an option. Having said that, there have been so many complaints about it here, I wish they would make it an option in deference to those who really do hate it.
