2004 9-5 Aero wagon 70K miles. Luckily I was less than a mile from my house, but I was doing about 15 mph and suddenly the radio sounded like it was going to blow the speakers with static, all of the dashboard lights lit up and then went dim (but still visible), and the car switched to limp home mode. The center console chimed but did not display a message. Turn signals and hazard lights did not work either.
Pulled off the road suspecting a bad alternator belt but I had that replaced in January last year and it appears fine.
Other posts suggest a bad battery or alternator, or possibly the throttle body needing replacement. My battery was replaced in March of last year. Also the DI cassette was replaced in September 2009 (I mention to further rule it out).
I'm going to reset the throttle body's limp home mode, but has any one had this happen? The previous posters did not follow up on the solution unfortunately (don't worry, I promise to do so!)
thanks
