From the description, sounds like wheel bearing pop. There is a slight amount of movement in the hub where it is pressed into the bearing. Can check to make sure your axle nuts are tight to spec, could allow slight movement.
Only fix here at the shop is replacement of the bearing. Sort of a pain in the arse as they are pressed in and out of the spindle, then hub pressed into the bearing.
Have the same condition on my '01 9-5 Aero Wagon, replaced LH bearing when it started popping. Three weeks after, the RH started and has since.
