I would never mount directional tires so that they rotate in the wrong direction. However, only a few directional tires are made in Rights and Lefts for use on only one side of the car. Meaning you could have the tires remounted so that they will rotate in the correct direction but the former inside edge is now the outside edge. the right side tires are now the left side tires and vice versa.
The right fix to prevent this from recurring is to install camber shims to get the correct rear camber. GenuineSaab makes and sells rear camber shims for this purpose. This problem is very common on Aero wagons. Is yours an Aero? Is the cargo area heavily loaded most of the time?
