The problem is in the electronics module made by Bosch. It affects all auto brands which elected to use this Bosch ABS system and not just Saab. Since it is the electronics rather than the valving, its life expectancy is not extended by frequent fluid changes - which is the right thing to do.
Your Christmas Tree of lights may be caused by the well worn pads. Typically a failed ABS Controller will produce the same list of warning lights; plus the speedometer drops to zero, and the Check Engine light illuminates. If this happens have the fault codes read. The code P1925 is the code for failed communication between the ABS Controller and the ECU, the definitive code requiring a ~$200 ABS controller rebuild. Other less costly repairs, such as a failed wheel speed sensor, can cause nearly the same list of symptoms but without the P1925 code.
A few owners have had problems develop within the valve body of the ABS system, but your rigorous and regular brake fluid changes should exempt you from ever developing this problem.
