The ACEA description for A3/B4 says it meets all the identified usages of A3/B3, PLUS it is listed for use in direct injection diesel engines. I don't know the significance of the direct injection diesel use addition, but since it meets all the A3/B3 specs I consider it at least interchangeable with A3/B3 for use on gasoline engines.
