So nice having a fully functional ignition cylinder! I made a special run to the Dealership tonight on the way home, and about a minute after reaching home I had the new cylinder installed.
Remotes work. Car no longer beeps at me every time I open the driver's door. I can have a cabin dome light again without worrying that it or a cell phone charger may deplete the batery over a weekend. And I no longer need to turn the radio off twice (once to turn off the radio and once to turn off the radio lights) every time I turn off the car.
Now I know the key code for my car, which I dutifully recorded in the Maintenance & Service Book, and I can dismantle, repair, and relube the old cylinder if I ever get bored.
