I traded my BMW 328i for the Aero for two reasons: 1) needed more space; and, 2) everyone in the Seattle area drives a 3-series (and too many kids for my tastes). That said, I still think the 3-series is a wonderful vehicle. I get a tad better mileage with the Aero, but the 3-series under "spirited driving" seems to do better (which is why I think R&T found the 3-series better at file economy). Someone else mentioned about the 30-80 mph acceleration being better on the Aero, and I agree. In real world driving, the Aero is better.

I've driven the X-type, but without sport package, and was surprised as how hard it had to work to keep up with my aggressive, but not overly aggressive, driving habits. I thought we had rented the 2.5, but when we got to the hotel, was surprised that it said "3.0" on the back!!

The Infiniti is probably the only car in the group that I'd considering going away from the 9-5 when my lease is up. That said, I think it's a bit busy looking inside, and don't like the fact that I can't get wood interior with the sport package. And I'm afraid that too many on the road will have the horrid rear spoiler, which is just way too boy racer for me.

I have a big soft spot for the Caddy CTS (it's nice seeing the Americans finally giving a competitive vehicle), and like the exterior. I haven't driven one yet. There are actually two big issues I have with the car, though: 1) foot pedal for the parking brake (what we're they thinking?), and 2) it does not appear that you can do anything with the stereo from the steering wheel except control volume. The latter may sound like a niggling thing, but I'm a station changer, and need/insist on having the ability to switch among presets with my left hand (since the right hand's on the shifter knob).
