Fan Runs at all speeds, no circulation

1999 2.3. Yesterday I found my ACC system showing every indicator that it was working, with the fan running at all speeds, but I had no air flow in the car. When on full, I could get a little through the driver's side vent, and feel some flow through the floor vents. This was no matter where I selected air flow to go. It seemed as if whatever internal piece that directs air to the various vents was not only frozen, but in a bad position. The display indicated what I was choosing, the fan went up and down on the display and I could hear the fan properly changing speeds.
I thought of doing an ACC calibration, and at the end of the calibration everything suddenly was working fine in terms of selection. The calibration did show me a code 11. I then checked for this by going through a full temperature cycle, on both sides. The passenger vents all responded appropriately to the temp settings, so I don't think there is a blend door problem there, plus that should not affect where the air goes.
Does anyone have an idea what my problem could have been, and whether I need worry about it repeating? I can add that last month I had to deal with the mess of the passenger front drain hose for the roof having disconnected, leaving a huge mess under the carpet up front. I had it pulled back and was doing a lot of squeezing of the foam under the sound insulation. I don't think I got up into anything I should not have, but then again I have no idea where anything like this might be located.
