NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!! I just went through the same deal-30 day checkup at which I requested programming, and was charged by the dealer, who was not the dealer from whom I purchased (I picked up the car after hours, and didn't see the bill until then; they had my credit card # because they were installing some wood trim). I called Saab USA, and they told me they thought it was included under the free maintenance program, in part because one of the items on the 30 day service checklist is "Programming per customer request." I called the recalcitrant dealer, pointed this out, and also pointed out that they would have plenty of other opportunities to violate my wallet in the future if they behaved themselves. They eventually called me back and said they were giving me a credit from the programming labor charge (these events took place in N. Calif.)
