Bernie, I appreciate your thoughts.
Yes, the lean code freaked me out but I'm monitoring CEL codes as I drive, with the open SID and also the scanner hooked up, and only time the lean code shows up is basically the car is idling at higher speed (80% of time just me revving it up in P or N and see if it comes down...), and never during driving. My MAF is almost 40K old and Mair follows Mreq pretty good on SID, So I *think* I'm safe... already melted a piston ring due to a bad MAF and rebuilt the motor at 100K...
I did not try if the high idle also correlates to dear defrost (i.e. load on alternator), will try. Idle always goes up when I put the car in gear... I did bump the idle speed a bit with JZW stage 1 ECU.
CPV does pulses when energized with PWM signal, no issues there. I did check the brake vacuum line at the quick connects, no issues and visually no issues. I did not disconnect at the booster (was afraid if it would snap...) to see if CV holds vacuum, but pumping the brake has no effects to the high idle so I guess it is isolated from the issue. Is is possible to safely remove the line at the booster?
Please keep the ideas coming!
