I've had 2000, 2004 and 2007 Saab 9-5's. Things do not start going at 100K miles.
Be sure to replace the serpentine belt and all pulleys at 120K miles. As a preventive measure I also replace the voltgage regulator at 120K miles.
When you need brake pads use Akebono; they're ceramic and do not make dust. Saab used them in production at one time. Tire Rack carries them.
Stay on top of fluid flush/replacements; ie: brake, cooling system, oil and a/c. Replace the thermostat at the time of a cooling system flush.
Tire life is 6 years regardless of tread remaining. Dry rot can lead to catastrophic disintegration.
The headlight control relay can be repaired easily if headlight operation starts acting up.
The little bulbs in the dash are now LED's, so they don't go.
The fuel pump and gas filter are in the gas tank; two of my friends who are trained Saab Techs have stated that they've never replaced either; they don't go.
Email me if you have any specific questions.
