Howdy Sir, and thanks for all your input. I have probably learned more from you than from my experience on working on 4 pre-GM Saabs (well, not really, but I still give Saab credit for their 93-98 cars, not much after that). Anyway, the sputter still stumps me. The CPS is still the most likely culprit, since it came off my 06 with about 90K on it, but my 06 was driving like a dream before it caught engine fire on really wet, short grass in late October when you couldn't start a fire on this stuff with a blow torch. That was just divine punishment, I know this now. The fuel pressure was at, slightly above, 40 psi after a few non-start cranks, and it held well. So what would cause it to become a problem under higher loads? The IDM, what exactly is that? If it is the DIC (I have seen the acronyms interchanged here), then yeah possible, but I have literally five of them, I exchanged this one for the last one, same issue. I can take the one off the 06 that was fine to see, but I am suspect of that. The sparks are new, they gave me the 6's to replace the 7 platinums (waste of money), so that is supposed to be a good thing, right? I am having a brain fart trying to remember which ones run cold, I think it is the 7's. Anyway, I gapped them correctly, they are brand new just because I had them. The old ones were more or less fine, they did have some good amount of black deposit on them, but I think I have more than 10,000 miles on those. I am going to have my codes read in the next couple of days by an old Saab mechanic who had to convert to anything but Saab mechanic, but he is the one who correctly confirmed the CPS, so I have a good feeling about him. Any follow up on your suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all the good work you do on this site, you should be getting paid for this....
