You don't know if it is the sensor or splice until you replace the sensor and have the same problem again.
The code is specific for a sensor or wiring problem.
You can't even follow the fault trace analysis in WIS since all fault tracing takes into account that you have a solid problem, either no voltage or no ground permanently.
The splice problem is intermittent and depends on heat and if the circuit is powered up or not and how long it is powered up.
That's why throwing in a new sensor can sometimes fix the problem temporarily since the new sensor is perky enough to overpowering the bad splice but a few days or weeks later it is doing the same thing.
So if you want to play it safe and low cost, read up on the slice job and fix that first and that might be all it takes.
