mlc, given its age, it couldn't hurt to change the CPS.
I'm also going to suggest taking a good look at your battery cables, and do a voltage drop test.
Below is a link to a thread a couple of years ago where I had been dealing with similar issues as you that were getting progressively worse. The CPS didn't hurt, it was probably due anyway, but for me the real fix was the positive battery cable.
Its been about 3 1/2 years and 70K on the new cable, and the car still starts almost immediately.
Just another avenue to explore......

(by the way, while my post refers to long cranks after short trips, the issue also was long cranks to get started in the morning that got progressively worse)
