Broken wheel lug bolt

Tire switched over today. My tech, who knows his way around Saabs, had one of my wheel lug bolts snap. Not enough sticking out of the wheel hub to grab on to. His opinion is what we need to replace the wheel hub, as any solution such as applying heat, etc., is likely to do more damage to other parts.
I saw a thread on that "other" Saab site, where a contributor said said "Don't screw with it. Tire shops have tools to get it off in a jiffy. Order another bolt and have it with you." Just for fun, I called a large wheel/tire shop, and no one there had any idea of how to do this, and just suggested replacing the hub.
Does anyone have any experience with getting a broken lug bolt out of a wheel hub? Better yet, finding someone else with the "tools to get if off in a jiffy?"
TIA!
