So I removed the helicoil. I had removed the tang so I had to pick up the end of the helicoil with a pointed tool and could then unscrew it. The 12x1.5 helicoils that came today did not even come close to fitting the hole. Seems odd since I used a 13/32 drill bit and 12x1.5 tap, which I believe are the sizes recommended for the 12x1.5 insert. Even a 12x1.5 bolt did not come close to going in, even without the helicoil inserted. Anyway, I put the 10x1.5 helicoil back in and stacked another on top of it. I was worried about two inserts not lining up and the bolt getting stuck at the top of the second or bottom insert. Tried an original bolt and it became a much tighter fit after screwing it in about half way, where, I guess, it had entered the second insert. Original bolts don't go down that deep so I got a longer bolt of same size and it worked out. One last point from the WIS. After the four bracket bolts are torqued to 36 lb ft., lower the engine and push it back and forth and side to side to take out any strain, then tighten the center bolt to 78 lb ft. End of saga, I hope! All the details here are for the benefit of others who might know as little as I did who may (hey, it could happen) find something useful.
