AC o-ring lube? Posted by Bill B [Email] (#1884) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill B) on Fri, 28 Jul 2017 13:12:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I am replacing the compressor, the expansion valve, and the receiver drier.
I have the o-ring kit from eeuro that comprises 11 o-rings with no info on which goes where. The expansion valve came with four o-rings which are not quite the same as ones in the kit.
The WIS says to lube the o-rings with "synthetic vaseline part no. 30 15 286". Autozone sells an air conditioning o-ring oil Santech A/C oil part number MT0941. It needs to be ordered.
In my stock, I have silicone dielectric grease, Loctite 37535, and Magic Lube, a PTFE food safe grease that I use on swimming pool o-rings.
My immediate interest is installing the parts asap.
The car is a 2001 base 9-5 2.3 with 162000 miles. The ac parts were purchased from Autozone some years ago before I knew about Saabnet or eeuro. They all are in their original boxes with plugs in the holes and in plastic bags in the cases of the expansion valve and receiver drier.
What grease on the o-rings? Does anyone know where the 11 o-rings in the kit go?
