Thanks for a good start. So I learned that PAG 46 is the oil to use for the 9-5. But I also learned that Ford PAG 46 comes in a double capped can, presumably so it can be poured into a compressor with minimum exposure to air. Moisture forms acid in the lubricant or refrigerant that corrodes the AC system from the inside.
I also learned that Advance sells 8 oz of PAG 46 with ICE32 for $10 and it sells premium PAG 46 for 13.20. I am going to guess premium is the way to go.
I need to get WIS going. It worked in a Dell Inspiron I once had but does not work with Windows 10. Now I am going to spend the evening trying to install a virtual machine.
The first paragraph has me a little reluctant to open a container of hygroscopic oil to use as assembly oil. It is worth being an anal compulsive if it delays having to replace the evaporator in five years, which may be a reason to sell the Saab to someone in the frozen north who would take a rust-free Texas car with no AC.
What is Saab'?s synthetic vaseline?
