Thanks for your suggestions and help, 93b. My first Saab choice was whether to buy a 96 or a Mini Cooper S 1275 in 1967 for rallying in New England. I bought the Mini, which taught me auto mechanics, in addition to being a great rally and autocross car.
Yesterday, I spent the day getting into my daughter's '03 Corolla trunk. They have a trunk like a safe. Back seat fold down latch is inside the trunk. Lock has a "valet" position that locks out lever in car. Car came with a "valet" key which does not open trunk lock in valet position. This Corolla is used with no original keys.
I can't wait to install WIS, thank you (and editor) for the links.
Befor dropping subframe, the Saab went to our indie AC guy who vacuumed the system in preparation for my replacing compressor, expansion valve and receiver. His instructions were to add 4 oz of synthetic oil before installing compressor. Plan is he would vacuum and recharge the system.
My plan is to do AC parts last before installing subframe and control arms and reconnect all the various pipes and hoses. At my speed, this could take a week. Maybe it should be vacuumed first. Back in the day, I did experiments in a vacuum lab. I remember a little and will shop for a pump.
More soon. Thanks so far.
